Круглый разъем MIL-DTL-38999 серии II предназначен для быстрого байонетного соединения, пайки контактов и съемных обжимных контактов, экранирования от электромагнитных и радиочастотных помех (EMI/RFI), высокой плотности контактов, компактных размеров, малого веса, короткой оболочки и герметичности при соединении. Эта серия круглых разъемов включает три типа оболочек из различных материалов, девять размеров оболочек, три типа покрытия, два типа штекеров, пять вариантов монтажа розеток, четыре типа контактов и более 50 возможных конфигураций контактов.
